Skin problems benefit from acupuncture and natural skincare products

Skin problems like acne and eczema cause untold misery. The skin looks unattractive and can be itchy and is often extremely painful. This results in additional social difficulties as meeting up with others and wearing summer clothes present a problem.

Cortisone products or taking steroids can suppress the symptoms but do not get to the source of the problem. They can provide temporary relief but are not a good long-term answer.

Acupuncture gets to the source of the skin problem by re-balancing the energy within the body. When the body is re-balanced correctly the problems with the skin resolve.

Natural skincare with acupuncture

Treating skin problems with acupuncture is genuinely natural skincare. The first step is a free 15 minute consultation where you come into the clinic and meet Andrew Loosely. He has experience of successfully working with people with severe cases of eczema, acne and psoriasis, and takes the time to help you feel at ease. There is no commitment on your part at this stage.

If you decide to take the treatment forward you will then experience a full diagnosis which includes having your pulses read in your wrists. This is very different from a reading for your blood pressure by a GP or nurse. It won’t feel different to you, but three pulses are read in each wrist which takes a little time. Then Andrew will ask to see your tongue and will talk to you about your condition, and what can be done to help you. You will then have a first session of acupuncture, and may also be prescribed herbal medicine in capsule form.

We want to make sure your treatment is as effective as possible and not set back by harmful skin products. Our natural skincare range of organic balms, soaps, shampoos and creams could also be helpful if you are not already using products that are organic and toxin free. Our product range is certified by the Soil Association and can be seen in our online Healthstore and in the clinic.
