Top 10 fertility tips
These top 10 tips can be incorporated in your life to improve your chances of fertility. But you may have to change your way of life and that is easier to do if you feel supported.
1. The Number One contributing factor to infertility is STRESS. Avoid it if possible, or change the way you approach it. Persistent low-grade stress is the most harmful. Don't be afraid of a quick burst of fear which gets things resolved –it may actually do you good!
2. Eat organic food to avoid harmful pesticides. Reduce your intake of alcohol, and dairy products like yoghurt, cow's milk and cheese.
3. If possible eat proteins and carbohydrates at separate meals. So meat, fish and dairy products are not eaten with foods like bread, pasta and rice in the same meal. It sounds complicated, but can help to support your entire system, and is quite easy to do once you remember.
4. Eat at least 3 healthy meals a day, with snacks in between meals such as tomatoes, fruits, and vegetables. This will keep your energy up and help your body to work more efficiently
5. Keep your lower back, legs and feet warm at all times. Wear plenty of clothes so the skin in this area feels warm. This is a powerful principle of Chinese medicine and I can explain more if you come to see me.
6. Become more aware of chemicals in cosmetics and avoid pain relief drugs completely if possible - they stop ovulation and therefore reduce the chances of conception! Where possible move to 100% natural creams, make up and hair care products.
7. Remove plastic from your life. Plastic is very contaminated and has been linked to infertility. Plastic water bottles and food containers are a good place to start. Use glass and wrap food in greaseproof paper instead of plastic bags or cling film
8. Exercise a little every week but not too much, and nothing too strenuous. Swimming, gentle cycling, light weights and walking are sufficient. You should feel good when you come out of the gym, not tired.
9. Make sure you get the full quota of sleep that you need each night.
Sleep is very important and of course is easy to do (once you are asleep!)
10. Practice having regular time to yourself where you feel peaceful.
These tips should help you avoid the more damaging factors in your environment and lifestyle. Taking time to relax is even more important as it helps to avoid the number one contributor to infertility, and improve your quality of life in every way.
