5 natural top health tips

good health is your birthright

  • Eat well.

Nutrition is the fuel of your body. Put bad stuff in and you get poor performance, just like putting leaded petrol in to an unleaded engine - it can't work. Good stuff in = good health and a long life when combined with the four other tips.

Always eat a balanced diet made up of lots of green vegetables, red and white meat, organic plant, fish and animal fats and oils and some grains such as brown or wild rice which are high in fibre.

For optimum health don't consume: sugar, too much dairy, too much alcohol, too many simple carbs such as: white rice, bread, potatoes, pasta and other flour products. Avoid low fat products and hydrogenated fats – they are really bad for you!

  • Exercise

Exercise every day for 6 days a week and then rest on the seventh day. Do moderate exercise and if possible avoid endurance types of exercise that drain energy such as long distance running. Sprinting is good as it's over a short distance and you then stop to recuperate your energy – a much healthier way to exercise.

Swimming, cycling, walking, even climbing the stairs a few times one after another constitutes cardio vascular exercise. Cardio is simply about raising your heart beat and we should do it mildly several times a day.

  • Sleep sufficiently

Sleep is a time of recharging and regaining our energy that has been depleted throughout the day. Sleep sufficiently, so that when you wake up you feel refreshed and ready to go. If you feel tired you may need more sleep. You can not catch up on sleep as some people think. Try to ensure you get enough every day. This is a big factor in preventing stress.

  • Stay calm and stress free!

Many people today have too much stress! This is the number one causative factor in the development of poor health. Stress causes the body to become tense and in so doing, the body can not perform it's normal functions easily. This leads to imbalance in the body systems over time and disease starts to develop. Reduce your stress in any way that you can and try to stay more relaxed. If you follow the above 3 points you should find it easier to relax as this is often affected by poor nutrition and a lack of sleep and exercise.

  • Take time out

How often do you have time just for yourself?

Very few people have sufficient relaxation time where they just spend time doing the things they enjoy, or doing nothing at all!

We all need to literally STOP and just experience life as it is without doing something.

Take some time out every day just for yourself, even if its just having a bath alone and try not to think about anything. Take a minimum of 10 minutes for yourself everyday.
